Skydance Paramount Will Remove Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – News

Paramount Skydance plans to start large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August worth $8.4bn.

Further global layoffs are likely, with the company planning to reveal complete information in its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports had indicated the firm was looking to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, the company retained almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

The company did not immediately respond on the matter.
